after three back surgeries and chemo a woman sat in the window seat next to me. before the three back surgeries and chemo she was on another plane, in the 1940s, taking off with her sister. we talked about that and about the snow at Midway and about Florida hurricanes and Idaho. My mind was with her but also with my precious cargo which at that moment was being smelled by strangers and not properly shut.
